Curriculum expertise.
As author, reviewer, and Dimensions Math at Home video instructor, I bring a wealth of knowledge of the content, scope and sequence, and instructional practices that embody the curriculum. Dimensions Math® PK–8 provides a cohesive approach for teaching and learning mathematics. It was written by a team of teachers and trainers who have over 100 years of combined experience in math classrooms. Dimensions Math® PK–8 improves upon the proven Singapore math methodology and has been updated to meet the needs of today’s students and educators.
I began working with Primary Mathematics in 2012, first as a teacher and then as a trainer. I have worked with all editions including the US, Standards, Common Core, and Primary Mathematics 2022. This problem solving rich curriculum has been used for more than 2 decades in the United States and has been proven successful throughout the world. Primary Mathematics is available in 1st through 6th grades in the US and Standards editions and 1st through 5th grades in the Common Core and 2022 editions. Earlybird Kindergarten Mathematics was developed as the prequel to the Primary Mathematics series.
Since 2016, I have worked with dozens of schools helping them implement or refine their use of both the earlier editions of Math in Focus and Math in Focus 2020 . This series was written for Kindergarten through 8th grade and empowers students to develop critical-thinking skills through problem solving and conceptual mastery. Math in Focus is the U.S. version of Singapore’s approved mathematics program My Pals are Here! and brings the renowned methodology behind Singapore’s high student achievement to classrooms throughout the United States.
What my clients are saying.
“I have found that truly effective teaching consultants are quite rare. Those with the best results are certainly knowledgeable and experienced, but those who are able to quickly establish meaningful connections and relationships with faculty are the ones who stand out. Over our many years of working with Beth, she has certainly been one who has stood out!”
“I have felt comfortable emailing Beth with questions that come up related to everything from how to teach specific lessons to how to best teach math facts. Beth responds promptly and always gives helpful advice. She has also come to my classroom to taught lessons for me to observe. This is extremely helpful because of her easy way with the students and practical lesson structure.”
“Beth did a wonderful job and each of the training sessions. She always presented with a very cheerful demeanor, gave us really great examples of how to use visual models and hands-on manipulatives when teaching, and did a great job helping us to understand how we can give all kids access to the curriculum. I loved the videos that we did on our own. It really helped us to reinforce what she was teaching us. Great job, Beth! I highly recommend [the Singapore Math Teacher Institute] workshop!”
